The History of the Gardner & Strayer Insurance Group
The Strayer Insurance Agency was founded in 1941 by Joseph Strayer in Bellevue, Ohio. 
Over the years, Bellevue proved to be a great center from which the Strayers could expand their business. Meanwhile, at about the same time that Joseph's son, Gary, entered the family insurance agency, Brent Gardner was beginning his insurance career under the tutelage of his great uncle, Jack Gardner, who had started an agency of his own in 1934.
In 2008, Gary Strayer and Brent Gardner combined their years of experience to develop an agency that is capable of insuring Ohio's largest companies.We have now grown to become one of the leading independent agencies in North Central Ohio, enjoying associations with many of the nation's top insurers. In 2013, the Gardner & Strayer Insurance Group, Inc. added an office in Sandusky, Ohio.
The Gardner & Strayer Insurance Group has been an innovator in developing specialty programs tailored to the best businesses in the industry. These exclusive programs have allowed the agency to bring customers a unique product. The agency's specialty programs can provide protection in any state, and can include risk management services; consulting services; employee benefits; bonding; and insurance products. Of course, the agency also takes pride in providing high quality personal lines as well, from auto to homeowners insurance, and from health to life insurance.
The Gardner & Strayer Insurance Group, Inc. centers its attention on a limited geographic area which allows agents to keep customer service at peak levels. The agency focus is on North Central Ohio, the cities of Bellevue, Norwalk, Willard, and Sandusky, Ohio, as well as the surrounding area.
The healthy agency growth was due in large part to the focus on local businesses and their varying insurance needs. Anthony Gardner, leading salesman at the agency, says it's great customer relationships that sets the Gardner & Strayer Insurance Group apart.
